Recently, Beijing Intellectual Property Office organized the 2018 Working Conference of Patent Operation Offices of Colleges and Universities and the Workshop on the Construction of Patent Operation Ecosystem. Xu Wei, Deputy Director of Beijing Intellectual Property Office, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The heads of the patent operation offices of the first 20 universities and colleges in Beijing, as well as representatives of the intellectual property operation funds for key industries in Beijing, pilot units of intellectual property operation, and some key universities and colleges and financial institutions in Beijing attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the head of the Industrial Promotion Office of Beijing Intellectual Property Office first introduced the development of Beijing's intellectual property operation market and the main work of Beijing Intellectual Property Office in promoting the construction of the city's intellectual property operation system. The person in charge of the patent operation office of each university and institute respectively introduced the construction of the operation office, the operation of intellectual property and its effectiveness, and conducted in-depth discussion and exchange on relevant hot issues and work suggestions. According to the preliminary statistics, the patent operation offices of colleges and universities have operated more than 1000 patents in 2017, and the operating contract amount has exceeded 1 billion yuan.
Xu Wei pointed out that the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasized "advocating a culture of innovation and strengthening the creation, protection and application of intellectual property", which pointed out the direction for the development of intellectual property. This meeting is the first centralized discussion on office construction and operation since the establishment of the patent operation office of colleges and universities in Beijing. Beijing Intellectual Property Office attaches great importance to the intellectual property work of colleges and universities, takes the operation of intellectual property rights as an important focus to promote the application of intellectual property rights, and provides support and guarantee for the construction of a globally influential scientific and technological innovation center and a top priority area of intellectual property rights.
